I'm getting ready to sing my little heart out.
Everyone that picks up a guitar has dreams about being a rock star. Playing a screaming solo for a sea of adoring fans. A few do, most don't. Making it as a rock star is reserved for a selected handful, and the way that the music business is going, having more than one hit is very hard to do today.
Back when I first got my Lotus Les Paul copy, I wanted to learn how to play so bad. So I had that guitar around my neck every waking hour. I practiced and practiced and about two years later, I could play well enough to rock out.
I never thought that I could sing, especially back then. After playing the intros to songs and the verse and chorus, I soon realized that if I didn't sing, no one would know what song I was playing. So I started to sing along when I played my rock and roll covers.
Today, I have over two hundred songs I have written myself. There's this fake book of my own songs that I carry around from open mike to open mike, I can't remember the lyrics and chords to all of my songs. That kid playing his Lotus Les Paul copy would have never believed that people would sing along to songs that he has written. And that he would rock scores of adoring fans. Rock and roll!
Last month, I released 'Rita's', my fourth singer/songwriter CD. The title is a tribute to Rita's' open mike night. If Rita's was still open, I'm sure that I would've had a release party there. Sadly, it's been closed for about a year now.

Well I still wanted to sing my songs from that CD, so I'm going to put on a recital and sing them. It would have been less formal at Rita's, however I sound great in the Music Recital Hall. It should be a fun time and if you are in town, I hope you can drop by. Here is the press release.
The Birdwell Building once stood here.
This summer, the Birdwell Building was being torn down. I liked that old building, maybe it was ugly, however I thought it was cool. So I wanted to do a small tribute to this building. I took a photo in front of it every day I was on campus while it was being torn down. Then I made an electronic composition and made a short music video from all of the photos.
"Why? Huh?" (Music Video) A Tribute to the Birdwell Building
The"Aires" back together.
Like the good old days.
I'm the short one.
My best friend Arthur came to town this week and received an award as the Distinguished Alumnus for Nacogodoches High School. It was great to see my best friend honored this way at the football game. He had some free time while he was in town so I showed him the improvements at SFA. SFA is a lot bigger now than when we went to school. It was great to hang out with Arthur and talk about the old times and the future.

Hello, how are you today?
Trying to make movies.
If you didn't know where this was, I could be anywhere.
It's a bit blurry, here I'm showing my BBall skills.
My great friend Reg of Social Bliss fame made this.
I'm the short one.
I love that 5 o'clock lighting!
I'm under a dark cloud.
I like walls.
At times, I do look cool.
