Collaboration!

Here we are collaborating to make movie.

I have been making short movies since I was in college. When iMovie came out, I hotroded my computer and bought a digital camera so that could make my first computer edited film, "The Shadowman".

After making this film, I was hooked on the process of movie making. Being a trained composer, I can take things apart to figure out how to make something work. This has help me make every movie a little better then the previous one. And we all remember the classic, "Death Stairs".

Well, after making movies on my own, I realized that I have reached the maximum quality of my solo movie projects. To expand on my craft, I would have to have others help me make movies. That's why I'm working on a filmmaking degree.

Last week, the Green Group started to film. We shot footage three days last week. And I have learned over fifteen things that will make my films better. I can't wait until I work on the summer feature.

Right now, I am a one man movie making machine. I write the script, direct, work the camera, act, edit and compose the music for my short films. And my setup time consist of me moving the camera from one locale to the next.

When you make movies for real, you have sticks, don't call it a tripod, lights, boom mikes, monitors, cables and a lot of other stuff to every locale. Then you have to set all of that stuff up, shoot the footage, log timecodes, break down and pack up. Repeat that process if you are shooting in another locale. You can see, there's a lot of hurry up and wait compared to my guerrilla style of movie making.

Wow! It's a lot of work, however I love it because I'm learning a lot. Then the fun part of editing all of that footage, adding sound and music. Rock and Roll!

Don't worry, I'm going to still make movies my way. Here is a short film that some friends and I put together. It is like production company, I do a bit of acting and handle the rest of the technical parts of making films, and they act. I can't wait to make some more 'guerrilla' films using what I have learned in film class.

What happens when the world is full of cellphones, Mp3 players, laptops and other techno-babble, when you can't stand them.
