Your Choices Shape Your Future

Your Choices Shape Your Future

The world does not owe you anything. When you were born, there were many possibilities for your life. Your decisions and choices shape the quality of your experience.

Not everyone wants the same outcome. Some see others with expensive material items and feel entitled to have the same. Others see people who have worked hard and appreciate the rewards of their effort. They may feel inspired to pursue something similar. Many are content with what they have. Fewer material items often mean fewer responsibilities. A large house may sound appealing, but it brings more repairs, higher taxes, and more work to maintain. Many people ask themselves a simple question, do you own the item or does the item own you.

The world offers opportunity. It is easy to feel discouraged when something does not work as you hoped. Those who accept that the world owes them nothing often find success. That success may be material, or it may be happiness. Many people with significant wealth are not happier than those who live modest and content lives.

The grass may appear greener on the other side, but often it is green enough where you stand. Be thankful for what you have. Work hard for the material things you want, but remember that material things come and go. The people you care about matter. During the upcoming holidays, focus on what is important. Think about the people, events, or moments you will miss when they are gone. Your future depends on the choices you make.

Time moves quickly. Your daily choices determine your level of happiness and contentment. Do not hesitate to make changes or to evaluate your own efforts. Only through change can your life improve. Embrace the possibilities and the work required to reach your dreams and goals.
