The World Today CD
When I compose music or create any artwork, I am influenced by what is going on this in the world. With the 24-hour news cycle, we know about everything that happens all over the world, in an instant. It wasn't always like that. I can remember when it took hours or days to get news from around the world.
I have lived a few scores now, and I can honestly say that the world and this country is more divided than I have ever seen before. One side believes in one thing, the other another thing. There does not appear to be any compromise anymore.
Any relationship, friendship, or society you have, needs to be willing to compromise. Right now all the sides can't even have a rational talk about the issues. If you can't talk about the issues in a logical manner, how can we work together to make the world a better place? Perhaps it's my philosophy about life that is in me, I believe in the future. I believe that the whole world can come together one day. Maybe technology or the lack of technology will bring the world together. To travel the stars, humanity will have to work together.
The current political election, the events all over the world, and the division that I feel in the air in 2016, influenced the music I composed for this album. It is my hope that this music will help bring the world and nation together.
This is album was recorded with a 1978 Roland System 100m Modular Synthesizer without any digital editing. The concept of this album is about the political climate in the world during 2016. What can not be said in words, can be shouted in experimental electronic music.
