What Is Up With You and Everyone Else?
You feel that you are doing everything you are supposed to be doing, and then life throws you a curveball and everything changes. No matter how prepared you are, life has a way of changing your plans. Even the most well-thought-out scenario is often a reduced version of what you expect. That is not a bug. That is a feature. If you never had challenges occur in your life, you would be unprepared for the realities of living.
Let us go back in time, long before we had any technology. You had to have a will to survive nature, food gathering, and the other elements that were often deadly. It was completely up to you and your strong will to survive that allowed you to live until the next day. Failure, in many ways, was never an option. So only those who could dig deep within themselves found solutions to survive.
In the modern day, with all of our amazing technology, it is still a struggle. In many ways, things move so fast that many feel it is impossible to keep up. So, just like your ancestors, you have to dig deep to find your own methods for success. With all the digital information constantly bombarding us, it is no wonder many feel electronic psychosis is occurring daily.
What do you do with all of this data constantly refreshing? Well, you cannot just give up. You could work hard to learn as much about technology as possible to improve your current position and the quality of your life. Seeking out others who have figured out at least a small part of that, and learning from them, is another method. Maybe the best way is to be in the moment and not of the moment.
With everything moving so fast in modern society, the little things are often forgotten. The quality time you spend with your family and friends is sadly sacrificed to get ahead in life. Going on a walk, taking a bicycle ride, going for a jog, or getting any kind of exercise is often ignored because of some activity you have to do for the next day. Even something as simple as sitting and just thinking is often lost with so much going on in the world.
During your quest for perfection, make sure you find time for the things that are truly important. You know what those are. In 50 years, no one is going to care that you spent so much time working on the minutiae of a digital problem instead of being with your family and friends. Most would not be happy about all the time they gave up for the truly important things.
So get out there and enjoy your day. When the digital data is overwhelming, take a step back and do something just for you. If there is someone you have not talked to for a while, make the first step toward reconnecting. People you care about are the most important part of our existence. So find time to help everybody else on this path we are walking on together. Be the light when the world is full of darkness. Be the positive energy when others need it. Remember to dig in deep every day, just like your ancestors. In the end, you know what to do, so go out there and make it happen.
